Resilience evaluation of elastic‐plastic high‐rise buildings under resonant long‐duration ground motion

چکیده

A simple evaluation method of building resilience is proposed, and the elastic-plastic high-rise buildings evaluated under resonant long-duration ground motions. The concept availability incorporated into model resilience, which was proposed in previous paper. Not only in-building components but also external factors such as lifelines redundancy facility systems are considered model. Based on model, following probabilistic indices formulated: (1) expected value total recovery time, (2) values structural frame, facilities, non-structural just after an earthquake event, (3) maximum likelihood curves (MLRCs) components. Numerical examples presented for evaluating models a pseudo-multi impulse (PMI), substitutes Finally, influences passive viscous dampers, systems, uncertainty manpower to repair clarified through results numerical examples.

Influence of Real Ground Motion Records in Performance Assessment of RC Buildings

Reinforced concrete frame buildings with Open Ground Story (OGS) are one of the most common building configurations in urban habitat. These configurations are known to be vulnerable to seismic excitations, primarily due to the sudden loss in strength in the ground story and differential stiffness distribution throughout the structure. The differential stiffness distribution is attributed primar...

Response of Buildings with Inclined First-Story Columns to Near-Fault Ground Motion

In this paper a simple model of a three story building with inclined first-story columns has presented. The stories are supposed to be rigid and are connected to axially rigid mass less columns by elasto-plastic rotational springs and linear rotational dampers. The considered model is subjected to horizontal component of fault normal pulse with different magnitudes and the governed nonlinear di...

Seismic Damage Assessment of RC Buildings Subjected to the Rotational Ground Motion Records Considering Soil-Structure Interaction

The significance of the seismic rotational components have been overlooked in the seismic evaluation of structural behavior. As researchers have measured seismic components more accurately using sensitive rotational velocity sensor, it was observed that the magnitude of rotational components is considerable and could not be neglected. Hence, some parts of seismic damage or failure of structures...
